well when i read the article i was very shocked that a couple would let their daughter die while they were on the computer. I cant believe that someone wouldn’t pay attention to their real daughter and instead spend time taking care of a baby on the computer. I think that internet addiction might be a real addiction to some people but as long as they can get done what they need and it doesn’t interfere with their life then it isn’t too big a problem. But if somebody doesn’t do anything but use technology and dont do what they are supposed to then it becomes a serious problem.

What did i learn this semester? I learned a lot of interesting things that I never knew before. But thinking back throughout the whole semester three things come to mind that I learned. In English i learned how to write a hook and an intro paragraph, which has always been difficult for me. I learned how genetics work in biology and many other things like punnett squares. I also learned lots of new Spanish vocabulary in Spanish II.
I learned many things in English this semester with Ms. Gerlach. One thing that was especially difficult for me was introduction paragraphs. I have been writing simple ones since fifth grade but now that we have have to follow specific guidelines and present a substantial paragraph, things have gotten more difficult. We did a writing workshop to introduce the topic and then we talked about it and did examples before she cut us loose to do our own paragraphs, then wrote one for our Macbeth essays.
In biology we learned everything from biospheres all the way down to a single cell. But what stuck in my mind is genetics. We learned about dominant and recessive alleles and how the effect a phenotype on the offspring. We even did a lab experiment where we used a random flip off a coin to determine genes instead of the joining of sperm and egg. Then maria and I created a beautiful child named Regina. Punnent squares determine the likelihood of the combination of different alleles. They are very hard to figure out so we had to pay close and unwavering attention to the teacher.
I learned lots of new Spanish vocabulary in Spanish II. Spanish has been a very hard course for me and I have struggled a lot during the semester.There is a lot of studying and memorizing involved in learning new grammar. The tests are good if you study though. I can use Spanish for the rest of my life so it is an important skill.
In conclusion, I would like to learn more spanish because speaking another language is an important skill that I will use throughout the rest of my life. It is also shown that bilingual kids get better grades.
